How to use this site

Welcome to our new documentation site! 🎉

By reading this article, you’ll learn you how to navigate and search the site, as well as how to use the features included in each article page.

Workspaces

Our new documentation site is divided into four parts, or workspaces:

  • V40 User Guide — same as the V40 User Guide on our old site

  • V39 User Guide — same as the V39 User Guide on our old site

  • V38 User Guide — same as the V38 User Guide on our old site

  • Deployment Information — same as the Deployment Information category on our old site

  • General Information — contains Release Notes, Knowledge Base (All Versions), V37 User Guide, V36 User Guide, and V35 User Guide categories from our old site

When you go to the site’s homepage, you enter the General Information workspace by default. You can go to any other workspace at any time by selecting the workspace from the drop-down list that appears on the left side of the top navigation bar.

Searching the site

To search the site, click on the search bar that appears in the banner of the homepage or in the upper-right corner of other pages on the site. You can also start a search with the CTRL + K (Windows) or Command + K (Mac) keyboard shortcuts.

By default, the site searches the workspace you’re currently in. To search in other workspaces, click the funnel icon in the search bar, and select the workspace options that meet your needs.

As you enter your search terms, the site shows a list of articles and site categories that may contain what you’re looking for. You can click on Categories or Articles above the search results to filter the results by content type.

You can click More article filters in the lower-right corner of the search results to open the search results page, which reveals additional results and filtering options.

In-article features

A breadcrumb trail appears at the top of each article, showing you where you currently are in the workspace.

Clicking the menu under the article’s title reveals options to export the article to PDF or print it out.

The left-hand sidebar shows the articles in your current workspace, and the right-hand sidebar contains a table of contents for the article you’re viewing. Each sidebar can be hidden or revealed by clicking the arrow on the sidebar’s boundary. This feature is especially useful for longer articles and for articles that contain wide tables.

While viewing articles, you can also toggle between light mode and dark mode, depending on your reading environment and preferences. To do, click the icon next to your initials in the upper-right corner of the page. This icon may take the shape of a sun (Light mode), moon (Dark mode), or half moon (Auto mode), depending on the mode you’re currently using.

Here’s our example article in light mode:

We hope these new features make your visit useful and enjoyable. Happy reading!
