Managing Layout Variations

In addition to editing the content of your layout variations, you can change them in the ways described below. You can also create new variations that have the same bounding boxes and field settings as one of your current variations.

The tasks described below apply only to layout variations for Structured layouts.

Edit the name of a variation

  1. Go to Library > Layouts, and find the layout whose variation you would like to edit.

  2. On the layout details page, find the variation whose name you would like to change.

  3. Click on the menu on the right side of its card (  ThreeDotsMenu.png ), and then click Edit Name.

  4. Revise the name in the text box, and then click anywhere to save your changes.

Copy a variation to a new variation

The process below has the same result as selecting the variation in the Start From Variation list when creating a new variation. For more information, see Adding a Variation to a Layout.

  1. Go to Library > Layouts, and find the layout whose variation you would like to copy.

  2. On the layout details page, find the variation you would like to copy.

  3. Click on the menu on the right side of its card (  ThreeDotsMenu.png ), and then click Copy to a new variation.

  4.  Upload a PDF, TIFF, JPG, or PNG file in one of the following ways:

    • Drag and drop the image file into the box provided.

    • Click Choose File to find the file on your machine and upload it.

      • If you upload a multi-page TIFF or PDF file, a single layout variation will be created from the file.

    • If your form consists of multiple files, upload additional files by clicking on Add More Files.

    • When uploading multiple JPG or PNG files, the order of the layout variation’s pages will match the order of the files shown during the upload process.

    • The system will create separate layouts for each TIFF or PDF file that you upload.

    • Click Next.

    • Enter a name for your layout variation in the Layout Variation Name field.
The name of the variation you’re copying from is automatically selected from the Start From Variation drop-down list.

    • Click Create.

Delete a variation

You can delete a variation if you no longer need it or if you created it by mistake.

  1. Go to Library > Layouts, and find the layout whose variation you would like to delete.

  2. On the layout details page, find the variation you would like to delete.

  3. Click on the menu on the right side of its card (  ThreeDotsMenu.png ), and then click Delete.

Note that if your layout has only one variation, you won’t be able to delete that variation.
