Supervision Tasks

The Supervision Tasks card shows the total volume of Supervision work waiting for completion. Your flow can have the following types  of Supervision tasks: Document Classification, Identification, Transcription, Flexible Extraction, and Custom Supervision. If any of the tasks are overdue, a warning icon will appear next to the count for the task's type. Hovering over this icon shows how many of the type's tasks are overdue.

Quality Assurance Tasks

The Quality Assurance Tasks card has the same overall format as the Supervision Tasks card.

In addition to performing tasks, you can also clear QA tasks of a given type by clicking that type's menu and then clicking Clear QA Tasks.

Task count

The task count shows the amount of work outstanding, quantified in terms of tasks. This number can be found next to each Supervision and QA task type.

Note that you can set limits to the task count using the TASKS_LIMIT_PERFORM_TASKS_PAGE variable in the “.env” file. For example, if you set the limit to 1000 and there are 1000 or more tasks of a particular task type, the task count will display “999+ Tasks” for this type. By default, the value of the TASKS_LIMIT_PERFORM_TASKS_PAGE variable is set to 10000.

Performing Supervision or Quality Assurance tasks

The Perform Tasks links in the Supervision Tasks and Quality Assurance Tasks cards allow users to select the type of Supervision or QA tasks they would like to perform. Only task type and subcategory options with outstanding tasks will be shown, and users will see only the task options they have permission to complete.

Click a Perform Tasks link to enter a task-based workflow. For more information on Supervision Task workflows, see What is Supervision?

  • Document Classification tasks will direct users to Document Classification, also known as Classification Supervision or Classification Quality Assurance.

  • Identification tasks are generated for standard Field ID and Table ID, as well as Field ID Quality Assurance and Table ID Quality Assurance.

  • Transcription tasks are generated for standard Transcription, Consensus, or Quality Assurance.

  • Flexible Extraction tasks are generated for Structured pages that were manually matched to a layout, as well as for documents that were sent for field- or page-level validation by the rules in a Custom Code Block. The tasks themselves are very similar to Transcription tasks.

  • Custom Supervision tasks are generated for documents that were sent to a custom flow containing a Custom Supervision flow block.
