You can define layouts to help the system identify the documents in your submission and accurately extract data from them.
Depending on the types of documents in your submission — Structured, Semi-structured, or Additional — the layout creation process may vary. For more information on how to determine a document’s type, see Understanding Document Types.
In the Hyperscience workflow, you must first determine what kind of document you need a layout for (e.g., whether or not you have a blank form or another kind of document), create the layout, and then submit documents.
All layout functionality is available in the Library section of the application, which you can access on the left-side navigation. After you enter the Library, click the Layouts tab to view all layouts available in the system. Details for an individual layout may be viewed by clicking the layout’s name on the leftmost column of the table.
The articles contained within the Creating a New Layout section of this site provide more information on how to create, organize, and use layouts.
Layout variations
A layout consists of at least one layout variation. Semi-structured and Additional layouts can have only one layout variation. Structured layouts may have multiple variations, along with field customizations and a shared field list. Using layout variations eliminates the need to create entirely new layouts for forms that are very similar to each other and share all or most of the same fields. To learn more, see Creating Structured Layouts, Adding a Variation to a Layout, and Creating Field Customizations.
