Reporting Conventions

Prev Next

The following conventions apply across various relevant reporting metrics unless noted otherwise.

  1. CSV downloads â€“ CSVs are available for all charts within Reporting.

    • The CSVs are based on the current filter settings and are updated when chart formats change (e.g. new metrics are added).

    • Look for the "Download as CSV" option beside the card, chart, or table title.

  2. Legend filtering â€“ For charts with categorical data series, click on a legend item to regenerate the chart showing only that data series.

    • To remove the filter, click again on the legend item, or click the x beside the Filtered view note that appears above the chart.

  3. Margin of error – Whenever an accuracy rate is shown in a chart or report, a margin of error is calculated and displayed to give context as to the data underlying that calculated value.

    • This margin of error provides an error range at a 95% confidence interval, based on the number of data points collected for a particular metric.

    • To view the margin of error calculation, hover over the '+/-' symbols beside an accuracy metric, or hovering over a data point in a chart.

  4. Tables – If tables in the reporting sections contain more than one page of records, navigate between pages using the controls on the top right of the table.

  5. Time filtering â€“ The default time frame for time series charts is the last week, which shows data on a daily basis.

    • Click on the time filter option to extend or shorten the time frame shown.  For time periods of 90 days or longer, data will be shown on a monthly basis.

  6. Time series â€“ Unless stated otherwise, data in time series charts are displayed at the completion date of the submission that the document, page, or field was part of.

  7. Tooltips â€“ Hovering over any data point in a chart will show a tooltip with the exact figures underlying the visualization.
