All Hyperscience instances running v40 require a license key before they can be used. Each license key contains encoded information, including your current license package.
To learn more about our license packages and the features available in each one, contact your Hyperscience representative.
More information about license keys can be found in License Keys.
Beginning in v40, when you enter a new license key, the features available to you may be different from those that you had in previous versions of Hyperscience. The table below describes the changes to your feature access, if any, you can expect in v40. Any changes won’t take effect until you enter a new license key.
If your license key was created under… | …and your current license package is… | …you will: |
---|---|---|
Non-Hypercell pricing | Non-Hypercell pricing | still have access to all available Hyperscience features in v40. |
Hypercell pricing | Essentials or Advanced | no longer be able to access features that are restricted to packages above your own in v40 (e.g., if your package is Advanced, you will not be able to access Premium-only features). |
Hypercell pricing | Premium | still have access to all available Hyperscience features in v40. |
To find out which pricing plan your license key was created under, refer to your Hyperscience contract.
Impact when updating license keys
Unless your license key is expiring, you do not need to enter a license key when upgrading to v40 to use all of the features included in your package.
If you have the Essentials or Advanced package for an on-premise instance under our Hypercell pricing plan, you will be shown a list of the features you will lose access to when you enter a new license key.
Impact on pricing-package downgrades
If you downgrade the license package for an on-premise instance, you will be given a new license key that has details about your new license package encoded in it. If that license key is created under the Hypercell pricing plan for the Essentials or Advanced license package, you will be shown the same list of affected features described in Impact when updating license keys when you enter the new license key.
Upgrading to future versions
To use any new features included in your package in future versions, you may need to enter a new license key when upgrading to v41 or later. For example, if you have the Premium package, and we introduce a Premium-only feature in v41, you will need to enter a new license key when upgrading to v41 in order to access that feature.
Additional information will be available on this topic as we release new versions of Hyperscience.
